Anza-Borrego

"Anza-Borrego" is the tittle of this painting...it is named after a desert just East of San Diego, California. I spent a bit of time there in my childhood and I have strong memories of its endless sand and sky, searing wind and sun, tenacious wildflowers and ocotillo. How can a place be so strong and yet so delicate?
